2007 Red Carpet Event Summary

The Ritz Carlton delivered on traditional elegance and style while Youth Lifeline America brought Hollywood glamour and sizzle to St. Louis. The Red Carpet Event truly delivered on being “the most entertaining celebrity fundraiser of the summer!”- St. Louis Magazine
Six hundred guests, including over 30 celebrity athletes and entertainers, graced the Red Carpet on the evening of the event. Some stopping to pose with “Vince”- the Lombardi trophy that is, on the way into an event filled ballroom of exquisite food, delectable desserts and fabulous festivities. Celebrity guests included: Baseball Hall of Famer DARYL STRAWBERRY and NFL Legend FLOYD LITTLE-RB of the Denver Broncos. Also from the Broncos, JIMMY KENNEDY-DL. Other celebrity participants included: Ellis Hobbs-CB New England Patriots, Clifton Ryan-DE St. Louis Rams, Tyranny Allen - Digital Underground, Quincy Black- LB Tampa Bay Bucs, Quinn Gray-QB Jacksonville Jaguars, TJ Jackson-DT Atlanta Falcons, Tyoka Jackson- DL St. Louis Rams Retired, Xzavie Jackson- DL Bengals, Chris Johnson-DB Raiders, Mark Lillibridge- LB, Dolphins & Saints, Roy Manning- LB Bills, T. Martin- QB Raiders, LeRon McClain- FB Ravens, CJ Mosley- DT Jets, Alvin Pearman- DB Jaguars, Ramzee Robinson- CB Lions, Clifton Ryan- DE Rams, Mike Scifres- P Chargers, and Pierre Thomas- RB Saints.
Attendees tried their luck with Black Jack, Roulette, Poker, Craps, Miniature Golf, Arcades and the Microsoft Vista Challenge while others jockeyed for position near the incredible silent auction and raffle items enticing even the most prudent to quickly scribble in a bid. For none wanted to be left out of auction items such as: a beautiful Tiffany’s bracelet, 2 karat Diamond Ring, $2000 Spa Package, a Walt Disney World Vacation, Pujols’ signed batting helmet and much more!
The live auction was a favorite with the crowd as Super Bowl XXXIV Champion Roland Williams and KMOV Chanel 4 Steve Savaard auctioned a Luxurious Seven Day Vacation to Cabos San Lucas at a private mansion including First Class tickets provided by AMERICAN AIRLINES, Arcade Games and Home entertainment provided by AMINI’S, a Super Bowl XLII Package and one-of-a-kind items such as a private Baseball Clinic for 20 children with baseball hall of famer DARYL STRAWBERRY.
The awards ceremony acknowledged several philanthropic members of the St. Louis community with authentic Oscar style trophies. Actor and comedian Cedric the Entertainer and Actor and musician Nelly received the Community Trailblazer Award, former St. Louis Ram and current Denver Bronco DL Jimmy Kennedy, received the Champion of Giving Award, Actor Mickey Carroll received the Lifetime Achievement Award and World Series Champion Albert Pujols received the Celebrity Foundation of the Year Award for the Pujols Family Foundation’s exemplary work in the community both locally and abroad. Youth Lifeline America was also the recipient of several awards including: a Proclamation from the Office of the Mayor of St. Louis, a Community Service Award from the City of St. Louis, a Resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives- District 58, a Resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives- District 63 and a Proclamation from the Office of the Mayor of East St. Louis, Illinois.
Attendees mingled and danced the night away to the alluring rhythm of St. Louis’ own, Groove Thang. For this night was truly one to remember. And as one guest said it best, “I can not WAIT until next summer!”
